Through workshops, auditions and presentations, a volunteer cast representing the varied makeup of a community is brought together. Over a four-week period these participants are guided by Charles Moulton and his staff in creating an original 20-minute work which is then performed in a high visibility indoor or outdoor location.

The Ball Passing Project works with performing arts organizations, funders, community groups, schools and the community as a whole to create a large-scale cooperative and inclusive event. Within Ball Passing exists a visually kinetic and wildly entertaining representation of the human experience. In its organization, creation and performance, each new version of ball passing is an exploration of what it means to be a community.
